Today I was spending some time reading. As I was reading I looked up to notice something moving rapidly on the ceiling. My first thought was, “Oh great the parent of the 14 roaches I killed earlier in the week wants revenge”… well something like that.
After taking a closer look I realized it was a gecko. I’ve never fought a gecko before, but how hard could it be to kill I thought. My roach killing instincts quickly kicked in. I grabbed a can of Roach killing aerosol spray. For the record I bought the most potent stuff I could find.
Geckos move fast, really fast. With my can of roach killing spray in hand, I closed in on the gecko. He made a dart for a bag of trash I was planning on taking out. I realized my laziness to miss taking out the trash by a few hours was an open invitation for this gecko.
With him inside the trash bag, I sprayed the perimeter and the inside of the bag. Thinking confidently that the fumes alone would kill him I turned away for half a second to make sure there he had not invited his relatives. When I glanced back at the bag I realized he was making a dash for under the couch.
With the gecko no longer safe inside the bag, I sprayed him with insecticide. I sprayed him some more. Then I sprayed him some more. He refused to die and he darted towards the living room window.
He squirmed and scrambled a bit as the insecticide did its thing but he refused to die. The only thing that slowed his maneuver was that the insecticide was slippery and made it hard for him to move. See how shiny he is?

I sprayed some and some more but he refused to flat line, instead he fought on trying to have a future saving people money on car insurance.
Understanding that my insecticide was useless against him, I plucked him off the ground and took these lovely close ups of him.

He even tried crying at one point but I wouldn’t buy it. I knew he was up to no good.

How do you dispose of a gecko that’s still alive? If this 10 story plunge didn’t kill him, he deserves to die another day.
